And I apologize for my error with regards to including your blog in this post Green LA girl. I have edited the post to exclude said link.

That being said, I do enjoy reading your blog... mommy blog or not :)

Have a great day!

Re: Website Marketing and Moms – Good for Business

I agree with Mike- it is a little weird and a little sexist. And I don't tend to be uptight about these things, but it kind bothers me the way you told Green LA Girl to Relax. She's got a legit point. And I've never heard "mommy blogger" used as a generic term to describe all female bloggers.

And, um...not only are you using "mommy blogger" as a generic term here-- but the title of this piece specifically references "moms" which, last I checked, was a generic term for a woman who had children and was raising them. I can't really see "mommy blogger" as a generic term the way you seem to think it is...But I especially don't see "mom" as a generic term for "woman." By using the word "moms" by itself in the title...you lose all hope at a claim for generic usage. I'm wondering if it just didn't occur to you that maybe adult women (who happen to be blogging) DON'T have children...?

Green LA Girl may not have asked you to change it, but I suggest you make some edits. You're talking about women here, not moms.

Re: Website Marketing and Moms – Good for Business

Whoa, so Edward, you refer to all women as "mommies"? Um, that's not weird/sexist at all!

Re: Website Marketing and Moms – Good for Business

I have to ask -- How exactly is "mommy blogger" a generic term that includes bloggers who are not mommies and don't blog about babies?

Re: Website Marketing and Moms – Good for Business

Thank you Tiffany. I think it's brilliant that so many women are getting out there and getting their voices heard. It certainly brings out a more interesting side to the world wide web.
Good luck with your SITS efforts. I'm looking forward to more great reads from you girls! - Edward J

Re: Website Marketing and Moms – Good for Business

Just came across your post. We started SITS {The Secret is in the Sauce} 8 months ago and have been amazed at the response.

I am currently serving as a "faculty mom" for Pepperidge Farm's "Fishful Thinking"- they contacted me through my blog. Seeing the PR side of things has been interesting, and companies are really getting interested in us "mommy bloggers". They are beginning to understand the benefit of our unique perspective and influence.

Great post!

Re: Website Marketing and Moms – Good for Business

Relax green LA girl. The term is largely generic and not all the women bloggers mentioned here are mommies :)
Least ways, I have used it in a generic manner. I shall change it if would like me to though. Let me know.

Re: Website Marketing and Moms – Good for Business

What?!
